This series of articles introduces the Representational State Transfer (REST) application programming interface (API) for IBM® Blueworks Live, which provides extra capabilities such as customized reporting on business process information stored in Blueworks Live. Blueworks Live is an IBM software as a service (SaaS) offering for collaborative modeling of business processes and business rules in the cloud. REST is a method of communicating with servers and an alternative for web services based on SOAP.
Part 1 presents five general use cases that use the REST API, with an overview of approaches to get the most of out of each use case. The remaining parts in the series dive into these approaches and show how to implement use cases based on practical examples.
